Double Trouble was on the red carpet at Seminole Coconut for the long awaited fashion show of the year Shuzz Art Fashion 2018
Presented by Seminole Casino Coconut Creek, the event brought London-based designer Patricia Gomez-Gracia back to the area where she was born (Miami) for her first U.S. runway show.
Over the last few months, after postponing the originally scheduled show last September, Shuzz has donated water, food, batteries, fans, clothes, shoes, baby products, and personal hygiene items to victims of Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Irma, and Hurricane Maria. These donations were possible through partnerships with Grieco Automotive Group, Tito’s, Amazon, and MLB.
The event’s emcee was Ryan Beckett from ABC’s The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise.
Once inside the event, there were hors d’oeuvres from NYY Steak, a Tito’s open bar cocktail reception, an exclusive art auction, a VIP Lounge, live musical performances, live and silent auctions, a Shuzz signature double-runway fashion show from Gomez-Gracia, a VIP After Party hosted by Josh Cohen, and a meet & greet with Gomez-Gracia. Plus, VIP Luxe Gift Bags will be distributed.
SHUZZ (pronounced shoes) is a non-profit organization that functions off of support from volunteers, existing to provide new shoes to children in poverty-stricken areas around the world. We distribute thousands of shoes free of charge to children – regardless of race, religion, class or any other criteria – who are in need of a very basic tool to prevent them from risk. Their needs are simple: a pair of shoes that fit properly. This helps protect from injury and prevent disease, enhancing safety when playing, doing chores and going to school.
When Rita Lombardo founded the SHUZZ Fund, she made a promise that she would use 100 percent of public donations for shoe distribution projects. We find other ways to cover operating expenses to ensure our 100% Model. We depend on private donors, foundations and sponsors to cover staff salaries, basic office systems, office rent and supplies, etc. These donors are some of the most dedicated people we’ve ever had the pleasure to work with. Their investments fuel our long-term mission and our ability to scale as an organization, allowing us to remain true to our mission of using 100 percent of public donations for shoe projects.
